Susan & Stefan- The Dumbarton House: Published in The Knot Magazine!
We were so thrilled when we found out that Susan & Stefan's wedding was selected to be published in The Knot DC/MD/VA Spring/Summer 2012 Issue! I loved working with this couple on their wedding. Upon first meeting, you could tell after just a few minutes the love, admiration and respect they had for each other, which made me really want to work with them to plan their wedding!
Susan and Stefan had a gorgeous color pallette of pewter & coral which were incorporated throughout the day in many different ways. The girls wore pewter dresses in different styles and had coral colored shoes which really popped with their flowers, provided by the ever-amazing Holly Chapple Flowers!
Susan & Stefan are also big soccer fans and play together in co-ed leagues (they would often take off straight from vendor appointments to make a late evening game) so the guys also doned custom Adidas that were pewter with coral stripes.I love that they decided to bring a soccer ball for some fun shots before the ceremony.
The ceremony was at the beautiful St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Arlington.
I'm in love with this picture of S & S outside of the St. Mary's red front door.
After the ceremony, guests moved to the Dumbarton House in Georgetown for cocktails and the reception. The escort card display was made from a vintage card catalogue and calligrapher extrordinaire, Michele Hatty Fritz from Meant to be Calligraphy, wrote the guests names on vintage card catalogue cards that Susan purchased on Etsy.
The reception decor featured textured beige linens, clusters of florals in white milk glass and a beautiful coral patterned china.
Speaking of flowers, take a look at this bouquet- it was such a stunner (just like our bride)!!
I loved this cake from Edibles Incredible…very simple, but textured and elegant, just like the rest of the wedding!
Another highlight of the evening were the dances. Susan & Stefan had a beautiful choreographed first dance to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Callet that really got everyone in the room totally feeling the love!
Stefan also had an amazing upbeat dance with his mom- there was no slow dance swaying there! So much fun!
I could go on and on about how much I loved this wedding, this couple and the amazing vendor team (listed below), but I'll end with a few more of my favorite images from the day. A huge thank you to the amazing Michelle Lindsay Photography for these gorgeous images!
To Susan & Stefan, I wish you both many happy years filled with amazing dances together!
