After a long reprieve (hopefully the new digs will make up for it) we're back to blogging! For our first entry back, I thought it’d be nice to bring a little July warmth to this cool December day considering its right around where we left off. This one was definitely a labor of love as Deanna and Jeff are also close friends of mine. I was honored when they asked me plan their wedding and as with all of my clients, wanted to give them the perfect day. When I asked Deanna, a Boston native who went to school in Louisiana, what her overall vision was she described sitting on her porch on hot day drinking lemonade with dewy skin. It was probably one of the most unique descriptions I've received for a wedding thus far but having spent a lot of time in the south; I had a good idea of what she meant. The end result? A super fun, summer “backyard bbq” style wedding w/ lawn games and ice cream to boot.
Enjoy! July, and the heat, will be here before ya know it.
Deanna and Jeff wanted to feel like they were hosting the wedding in their own backyard which is exactly the feeling you get at the Hendry House in Arlington.
The Enchanted Florist did an amazing job on all of the flowers that day as usual!
So yummy! The classic silver bowls Purple Onion used for serving (not seen in this pic) turned the cuteness factor up a notch.
Deanna knows every step in the “All the Single Ladies” video and would perform it often at parties. She performed it for her guests one last time before she turned in her single dancing shoes….
For a much better partner :)
Congrats Dee and Jeff – Much love to you both!

After months of work, we are so excited to finally share our new blog and website with all of you! As we continue to grow, we wanted something that more accurately reflected our personality.
Our designer, Rachel Merkle of Miss Merkle Design, was a fabulous recommendation from Holly Chapple, after she revamped Holly’s blog, The Full Bouquet. I knew Rachel would be able to take our ideas and run with them.
The colors may be a little bold for some, but every time I look at the stripes, it makes me happy! My favorite flower is a peony, so Rachel integrated that component into our new logo and design. I couldn’t be happier!
As 2011 is coming to a close, we’re excited to share events from this past year and future events with you on our blog. Thanks for checking us out!
